My work is autobiographical and I use a lot of self representation in my work.
Using another person would be putting my statement in another person’s mouth and
could not tell my accounts/statements the way that I would do it. I use different
medias to communicate my statements the best way possible. I guess due to the use
of self representation I get a lot of comments that my work is feministic art.
I do not think that I make feministic art; I think that the origins and point of
view comes from my own interpretation of the world. The views are my own, but they
are with a female viewpoint, because I am born as a female human being. I rather
see it as personal work.

The concept for a piece might come from a dialogue, an experience, a feeling -
anything that happens in my everyday life. Thought a lot of thoughts and visual
influences I come up with a concept. Though sketching, experimenting and critical
analyzing I come to a final concept. But I try not to be to locked on to an idea
and keep it open for other possibilities.
I found a way to balance my conceptual work by working with my hands, giving my
brain a break from constant consciously reflecting and considerations.

The work for my final exam is an installation called Intro Humanity.
Intro Humanity is a critical statement towards women, but also questioning the
arrogance and artistry of contemporary artist. The lack of women solidarity and
the acceptance of a position, even without questioning it, is what I want to
communicate with this installation. This work has it roots in my (at the moment) engaged subjects:
- Questioning the artistry competence of contemporary artists
- The female artist’s position in the art world/institutions

gebruikmakend van een keur aan technieken stijlen, materialen en media: Video's Performances,
rubberen sculpturen, keramische sculpturen, porceleinen afdrukken, zeefdrukken, houtsneden,
computerprints, fotokopieën en grafische ontwerpen.
Sub en Object in het werk van Caroline is haar eigen lichaam. In haar eindexamenproject zien wij
de combinatie van alle bovengenoemde ervaringen en toepassingen, samengevat in een groot masterpiece.
Vorm, kleur grafisch design, ruimte tekst:hederdaagse sculptuur. Vanuit het persoonlijke verhaal
over het eigen lichaam is een beeld ontstaan over het universele zaken van het zijn."
